Frequently asked questions

What is Curata?

Curata is an AI virtual closet. You add your clothes once and the app builds complete outfits using only your own pieces, based on the occasion, a photo that inspired you, or an item you're about to buy.

Do I have to photograph every item one by one?

You don't. You can upload a full-body photo of yourself (a mirror selfie works great) and we detect every piece you're wearing in one go. You can also pick close matches from our catalog, or photograph items one by one if you prefer.

Is Curata free?

Yes. The free plan doesn't expire and doesn't ask for a credit card: it includes up to 120 items, 3 outfits per week, one editorial photo a week and as many items for sale as you want. Curata Pro adds unlimited items, up to 14 outfits per week and 5 editorial photos a week for people who use it daily, and Curata Studio raises it to 100 outfits and 25 editorial photos a week.

What happens to the photos of my clothes?

They're used only to build your outfits inside your account. They aren't published, sold or shared with other users. You can delete any item whenever you want.

Does it work if I've only added a few items?

With few items there are few possible combinations and outfits start to repeat. From around 15 to 20 pieces — across tops, bottoms and shoes — the suggestions really start to vary. While you get there, the stylist proposes specific items to buy that go with what you've already added, and you can fill your wardrobe faster by picking from the catalog.

Is it for women, for men, or both?

Both. When you start you choose whether the catalog and shopping suggestions lean feminine, masculine or show everything; the outfits themselves are always built from your own clothes.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?

Yes, on both: Curata is on the App Store and on Google Play, free to download. That's how you use Curata: from the app, on your phone.

Does it suggest clothes to buy?

Yes, and it's optional. Alongside each outfit the stylist can propose accessories that complete it and one specific item that goes with what you already own. The item suggestion switches off with one tap before you build the look. The app is built to get more out of your clothes, not to make you buy more.

Which languages is it available in?

English and Spanish. You can switch language from the footer of this page or from your profile inside the app.

Can I sell the clothes I no longer wear?

Yes. You mark the item as for sale from your wardrobe and paste the link where you're offering it: your shop, your listing, wherever. Other users see it and go to that link to buy it. The sale is yours: Curata takes no commission and takes no part in payment or shipping. While it's for sale, that item stops being used to build your looks.
